About Bella

Bella Alubo, a Nigerian artist, transitioned from modeling to music, initially as a rapper. Collaborating with YCee, she infused melodies into her work, gaining traction in Nigeria’s music scene. Their joint EP “Late Night Vibrations” featured the hit “Tropicana Fruit Juice,” amassing 13 million streams and receiving attention on TikTok and social media from Alicia Keys, Ashanti, Omarion, and Julie Adenuga. Expanding her fanbase, she collaborated with artists like Sho Madjozi, BOJ and Zlatan.

Under Mr Eazi’s Empawa Africa promotion, Bella released the EP “Re-Bellaz,” featuring the track “Aiya,” garnering over 1 million streams and earning recognition across African TV and radio stations. She further solidified her presence in the Alte music scene with the EP “Summer’s Over,” collaborating with Ladipoe.

Bella’s self-released debut album “Bella Buffet” in 2021 featured the single “Location” with Niniola. Signing with L.A-based Benin City Entertainment in 2022, she released a compilation of her EPs into the LP “Sunsets in Lagos,” and released the “Lagos 101 EP,” in 2023, collaborating with The Notorious B.I.G, Ty Dolla $ign, and Falz.

Love Is… EP (29th March 2024) comes after the release of 3 singles – Suga Baby, African Barbie & African King. Across six tracks, Bella Alubo blends Neo Motherland elements with Afropop; fusing R&B, Hip-Hop, and Soul while incorporating newer genres like Amapiano and Alté

The lead single, Kiss N Tell is an Afropop tale about modern romance, set against contrasting lifestyles. It is written by Bella Alubo who has been writing since the age of 6 in Jos, Nigeria where she was born and raised. Her early inspirations include Brenda Fassie, Plantashun Boiz, Taylor Swift, West Life & Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

Bella credits being less than 1 kilometre away from a bomb blast site in her hometown in 2015 as one of the things that fuelled her decision to pursue a career in music.
